Today marks the 50th Anniversary of Earth Day, a celebration that is now more important than ever. Amidst a global pandemic that has put us in lockdown and unable to go out and enjoy nature, feel the seaside breeze or dive in the ocean, the importance of a healthy planet has become clear for many.
While we won't be able to celebrate this milestone together and out in the open, there are many online initiatives taking place to raise awareness for the day and need to adopt sustainability practices in our everyday lives.
The Climate Strike Movement will be online from today until Friday 24th, with several activists, performers, and speakers such as Al Gore, to increase awareness and mobilize people.
However, despite the importance of Earth Day, it's imperative for all of us to become more conscious and take action every single day. Small adaptations we can make to our daily routines can bear a strikingly positive impact on our beloved planet.
